How we handle your information when you use this website or enquire about access control work. Last updated 15 September 2026.
Who we are
The data controller for this website is S&K Group Holdings Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16703925, registered office Unit 1 Hems Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. This website trades as Access Control Installers, part of the s&k group.

What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us: name, phone number, email, postcode, the service you are interested in and anything you write in the message box.
- Live chat messages if you use the chat widget, including anything you type into it.
- Analytics data — pages viewed, approximate region, device and referral source — but only if you accept cookies. Nothing analytical loads until you do.
- Technical data such as IP address, held briefly in server and security logs by our hosting provider.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry and quote for work — steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
- To carry out and support work you instruct — performance of a contract.
- To improve the website — consent, given through the cookie banner.
- To keep records we are legally required to keep — legal obligation.
Who we share it with
Enquiry data is processed by our form provider (Web3Forms) and delivered to our email. Chat messages are processed by Tawk.to. Website analytics, where you have consented, are processed by Google Analytics. The site is hosted by Netlify. Where an installation is carried out by an engineer working under our contract, we share only what they need to attend and complete the job.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass your enquiry to a panel of unrelated contractors.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for up to 24 months so we can pick up the conversation if you come back. Records relating to work carried out are kept for six years for contractual, warranty and tax purposes. Chat transcripts are kept for up to 12 months. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
Cookies
Essential cookies make the site function and your consent choice persist. Analytics cookies load only after you press Accept on the banner. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back. The live chat widget sets cookies to maintain your conversation if you use it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, and ask for portability. Contact us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
A note on access control data
If we install a system for you, the data it records — who opened which door and when — belongs to you and you are the controller of it. We do not access it unless you ask us to, typically during a service visit or when investigating an incident on your instruction. Where biometric readers are involved, that data is special category data under UK GDPR and we will raise the implications with you before anything is ordered.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. We limit access to enquiry data to the people who need it to respond to you. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what you send us.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of this page.
